All of the electrolytic caps (main filters, bias filter, cathode bypass caps) have been replaced with new Sprague Atorn types, and the original 2-conductor AC cord has been upgraded with a grounded 3-conductor cord. The 12AT7 reverb driver tube has been replaced. The reverb driver transformer is not original - it was installed from a previous repair - but functions just fine. Additionally, all of the pots, jacks and sockets have been thoroughly cleaned.

Newly restored, this Fender 1966 Super Reverb tube amp is in Very Good condition, sounds incredible, and has a long rocking life ahead.

Speaker

Size: 4 x 10”

Impedance: 2 ohms

Watts: 40

Model: Fender Special Design

Tubes

Replacement Tung Sol Reissue 6L6GCs

Effects

Reverb, Tremolo

Faceplate

Front: Normal: In, In, Bright Switch, Volume, Treble, Bass — Vibrato: In, In, Bright Switch, Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass, Reverb, Speed, Intensity — Pilot Lamp

Rear: AC Outlet, Ground Switch, Fuse (2A), Power Switch, Standby Switch, Speaker, External Speaker, Vibrato Jack, Reverb Jack, Reverb Out, Reverb In

Weight

60 lb.

Dimensions

24 1/2” wide x 25 1/8” high x 10 1/2” deep

Description

Specifications

This used Gibson 1976 Les Paul Standard is a gorgeous example of why the Les Paul is arguably the most iconic guitar ever made. This one is in Very Good condition, with some slight cosmetic wear - but what doesn't at nearly 40 years old? Made with grade-AAA Maple, its deep burgundy finish is offset by the cream pickguard and golden controls, and it has a sustain inducing heft at 10 lb, 15 oz. It has a Maple neck, and the Rosewood fingerboard has been completely refretted, so it plays as smooth as ever. A few of the inlays are nicked, most noticeably at the 5th and 21st frets (see photos). The original tuners have been replaced with chrome Grovers, and the original pickups were replaced with dual Seymour Duncan '59 humbuckers, giving it a warm, vintage clean tone while still capable of delivering some raucous, yet bright, distortion. There are surface scratches and scuffs - nothing significant and nothing that affects the great sound of this beast. A versatile and uncompromisingly awesome guitar, this Gibson 1976 Les Paul Standard is called the Standard for a reason - it's just that good.
