A traditional 14-fret dreadnought goes a long way: it has unprecedented volume and can be played loudly while not muddying up its already incredible tone, and has a lovely warm and deep-bodied tone that's perfect for vocal accompaniment. It's also ideal for bluegrass flatpickers who have to keep up against louder instruments like banjos and fiddles.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe've given this D2H the Vintage Now treatment: this gives it a slightly wider 2 5\/16\" string spacing at the saddle and 1 3\/4\" nut width without being chunky like some vintage Martin models. We've also added Adirondack Spruce bracing, while removing the tongue brace. This allows the top to vibrate more freely and gives it a subtly more open sound. It has a select Sitka Spruce top, East Indian Rosewood back and sides, a Mahogany neck, and Ebony fingerboard, with a standard 25 1\/2\" scale length.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is also loaded with plenty of high-end appointments making it a real eye-catcher, as well: high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish; grained Ivoroid binding with Herringbone top trim and matching 2-style backstrip; a tortoise-style pickguard; cross-cut grained Ivoroid and wood nitrate strip rosette; and Abalone diamond and square fingerboard inlays.
