By tweaking the circuits, it has a slightly softer attack with generous harmonics, but still capable of high gain with a touch of fuzz and increased gain in the lower mids. Interestingly enough it can even emulate a violin's tone, so you don't have to deal with a pesky bow. On the Shift side, you're given a natural, \"woody\" distortion - an organic low-gain that complements the Gold side. Excellent when played through a neck pickup, like on a strat or telecaster. Controls include Master Volume and Drive knobs, Volume and Gain knobs, a Lean\/Rich knob, and Tone control, in addition to the three-way toggle switch between Gold, Shift, and both.
