This 2024 Custom dreadnought is an absolute standout; a one-off collaboration with Colin Besancon from the Martin Custom Shop, designed at NAMM 2024. The solid figured walnut build delivers a sound unlike any other Martin you'll hear, with specs and craftsmanship that truly bring this guitar to a different level. Walnut, being a hardwood, relays complex frequencies and a sound that is at home with subtlety and nuance. However, thanks to the Adirondack scalloped forward shifted x-bracing on a sloped shouldered dreadnought body, it can absolutely rip when it takes a hard strum. Vintage hide glue construction on top of these specs makes for a build that is superbly resonant for a hardwood build, a construction choice reminiscent of our favorite builds from the '30s.
While the unique tonewood and time-honored construction methods complete this guitar in the sound department, the aesthetics are intensely jaw-dropping. The figured walnut flames out in such a unique manner, and combined with the flame maple binding it is simply elegant. Finished off with a classic abalone block Martin headstock inlay, this guitar is one of Martin's modern finest.
Since 2024 it's been kept in Excellent condition, with nary a visible mark save for two slight ones to the front top of the headstock and some play wear on the guard. An incredible piece from the Martin custom shop that delivers equally in sound and aesthetics, a perfect addition to your collection. Comes with the original hardshell case and a Mass Street setup.
