Its top controls are about as easy as it gets with an On\/Off\/Standby switch, and controls for Volume 2 (the master volume), Bass, Treble, and Volume 1 (for pre-amp gain). In addition, it has a two-position Sparkle switch that acts a bit like bright switch or boost, but it's something more, providing a really cool tonal bump. The Volume 2 control allows you to blend both pre- and power-amp gain for even more tonal variety. It takes pedals extraordinarily well, too although it can definitely be dirtied up with its natural gain, similar to a Vox.
